Thomas Kirk Thomsen attended the Strawberry Elementary School, Santa Rosa. 

Received president's award 2011 in recognition of outstanding academic exellence. 

Thomas was admitted to Santa Cruz University and began computer engineering studies on September 25, 2017 and finished with honors 2021. 

Served as software engineer at General Motors until 2022 and then at Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Although not yet born, you are very much alive, your mother tells us. We are truly looking forward to welcoming you into this exciting world. Your grandmother and I are quite busy right now renovating the second-hand baby carriage your parents, Flora and Niels, have acquired. It will be just perfect with new lining and a new cover.

While we wait, I can also tell you that you are a most fortunate child. No one could wish for more responsible and caring parents than you will have. Both of them enjoy – and you always will enjoy – the support of strong and loving families.

Your family is just what this our first letter to you is all about. It is written in the English language, because your auntie Liz is the main provider of information on your maternal family.

Your mother, Floramor Kjær, was born on January 20, 1968, in Oakland, California, USA, and was baptized Floramor Mortella Pallen Llacer at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church on January 5, 1969. She completed high school in Santa Rosa, California, in 1986. She took the surname Kjær through marriage, which brought her to Copenhagen, where she later divorced.

When we met Flora for the first time, she was studying marketing and business economics in Copenhagen and lived in a ground-floor flat at Thuresensgade 5. The ground floor was very convenient for Sara, her cat, who could leap in and out through the window. It was a sad day for Sara when your mother moved one floor up to a larger flat to make room for your arrival.

Your half-brother, Sean Michael Kjær, was born on May 8, 1998, in Santa Rosa, California, and was baptized at Sct. Jørgens Kirke in Roskilde.


Floramor's father: Efren Llacer; Born February 3, 1937 in San Fernando, Masbate, Philippines; emigrated to the USA in 1967; educated as a lawyer in the Philippines.


Floramor's mother: Flora Moratillo Pallen; Born Jan. 18, 1939 in Naga City, Philippines; owned a hair salon business in Pittsburgh, California. Divorced Efren in 1972 and remarried in 1973 to Arthur Clarence Hager III. She died on March 12, 1980, in Pittsburgh, California, and was buried in Concord, California.


Floramor's Three Sisters:


Flordeliza Llacer Chamberlain: Born Sept. 9, 1960 in Manila, Philippines; married Brad A. Chamberlain on March 3, 1990, in Lake Tahoe, California; lives in Santa Rosa, California. Flordeliza is known as Liz.


Florencia Barnekow: Born November 27, 1963 in Bulacan, Malolos, Philippines; married Ron Barnelow; lives in Santa Rosa, California, with three children:

Mathew, born Aug. 20, 1986;

Nicholas, born September 8, 1988;

Catherine, born September 24, 1990.

Florentina Llacer: Born April 7, 1965 in Manila, Philippines; divorced; has three children:

Jessica, born June 21, 1985;

Christine, born Feb. 12, 1989;

Alexandra, born March 8, 1996.

Floramor's maternal grandfather: Zacarias Pallen; born Feb. 18, 1892; served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman; married twice. He had one child in his first marriage. After his first wife died, he married Luz Moratillo, and together they had ten children. He died in 1972 and was buried in Oakland, California.


Floramor's maternal grandmother: Luz Moratillo Pallen; birth date unknown; mother of ten children; lived in Oakland, California.


Floramor's paternal grandfather and grandmother: Vicente Llacer and Iniga Asaula.


Your parents are an energetic and hard-working young couple who share the same values. I am certain they are also planning plenty of time for you. Niels has just bought an old house in Laven, built in 1900. From the house you can admire the scenery over Juul Sø with an undisturbed view of Himmelbjerget, the only “mountain” we have. Thomsen, who made it to the finals of the North Coast Section Meet of Champions last year as a junior, had emerged this season as the guy to beat, posting the best times in the region. At the North Bay League prelims on May 10 2017 , he was a lock to advance to the finals.
